Questions & Answers for LG - Smart Blu-ray Player

Question

internet using ethernet cable

I have an LG HDTV ( no w-ifi), a desk top PC and a wireless N router. I would prefer to use an ethernet cable. Do I just have to run it from the router directly to the back of the BP220 to get internet access? No other adapters etc?
I'm mostly interested in accessing free programs from the internet.

The only thing you have to do is run an ethernet cable from your router to the back of the player to connect to your network and the internet. No other adapters needed. The player will search for shared folders on your network and can play movies and pictures that your computer allow to have access. Hope this helps some

Question

Will it stream MLB.tv?

On the MLB.tv website, under the list of compatible devices, the LG 2012 Blu-ray: BP220 is listed in the category of "coming soon," but no telling how long ago that list was posted there. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure whether or not MLB.tv will work with this player now.

This player should be able to work on a TV that doesn't have HDMI. It has RCA jacks in the back of it. (I've never tried it though).

I am away at school and I have access to a public WiFi connection. For it to work on my laptop, I have to put in a special username to connect to the WiFi. Is there any way I can get my Blu-ray player to connect? I run the advanced setup and it cannot find a connection.

I use a Wireless Access Point to connect my blue-ray player to my home wifi. Just configure the WAP to use the special user name and point to the Wifi. Then plug it into your blue-ray player.
