Question

Can I connect headphones directly to this tv, without any adapters?

If not, does any other 32 inch Samsung have the ability to directly plug in a headphone? This will affect my buying decision because I watch the TV in a room with a lot of background noise.

Unfortunately, headphone jacks are not available on this or any other 32" Samsung TV; however you can still connect headphones to this unit with a third party headphone device (either through RCA, 3.5mm jack or Optical). Since the audio outputs on this unit are a fixed pass through type of connection, you would need an intermediary device to control the volume, since the TV does not have control of the volume coming out of the analogue and digital audio outputs. Additionally, the Samsung TVs will not offer direct wireless connectivity to wireless capable headphones.

Currently, the dynamic contrast ratio of the UN32EH4000 is being stated as "Mega Contrast", meaning that the contrast ratio can be adjusted higher then similarly featured TVs in its category.

Since the UN32EH4000 is a 720p TV, it will have a maximum resolution of 1360 x 768.

And finally, as with all of the other Samsung LED TVs, the UN32EH4000 will offer a 16:9 aspect ratio.

All UN, PN and LN units (North American Units) will only have support for NTSC/ATSC/QAM broadcasting systems and NA power systems. Since the NA TVs will not accept a PAL signal or Non-NA voltages, you will not only need a converter for the broadcast, but also for the power if you would like to use the TV in a PAL country. Unfortunately, I will not be able to recommend a specific converter since Samsung cannot offer support for products we do not manufacture.

I'm very sorry for the confusion, and allow me to clarify. The UN32EH4000 will indeed offer a dedicated "Sleep" button on the remote control. The instructions I posted previously were instructions on how to access the sleep timer through the TV itself, which for most Samsung TVs is the most common way to access it. But yes, the UN32EH4000 will indeed offer a Sleep button on the remote as well.

Although I cannot speak for the speaker quality (since I have not heard them myself for the newer models), I will say that the EH4000 does offer the Dolby® Digital Plus/Dolby® Pulse and SRS TheaterSound HD™ audio drivers that will help to enhance normal audio listening.

Additionally, the dimensions are:
TV without stand: 29.1" x 17.2" x 3.6"
TV with stand: 29.1" x 19.4" x 7.5"

How do the size and quantity of speakers in this new model compare to last years similar model?

From a technical or engineering point of view, will this new TV deliver better audio than your last similar model which had unsatisfactory sound level. Comparing the two models, what differences are there in the speakers? Also, where are the speakers located?
