I'm not familiar with an optical splitter, nor does Samsung manufacture such a device. I would have to suggest that you contact a dedicated Best Buy associate for more information on this device.

I'm sorry for the confusion, but the Samsung TVs will not offer interchangable stands and will only come with the stand that is designed for that specific TV.

Unfortunately, headphone jacks are not available on this unit; however you can still connect headphones to this unit with a third party headphone device (using the Optical audio output). Since the audio output on this unit is a fixed pass through type of connection, you would need an intermediary device to control the volume, since the TV does not have control of the volume coming out of the digital audio output. Additionally, the Samsung TVs will not offer direct wireless connectivity to wireless capable headphones.

Question

Headphone jack part2

Thank you for answering my question on headphone jacks. I am already using the TV's optical output for a speaker Soundbar (Samsung HW-E550), so I can't use that for headphones.
Can one of the USB ports on the TV be used for audio output (to a device like an Audioengine D1 DAC)?

Unfortunately, the USB ports do not have the ability to output audio to a secondary source. The USB's will only have the ability to allow for the connection of a thumbdrive or HDD for media playback and for software updates.

Question

What type of screen does this TV have and is it suitable for a room with lots of ambient light?

Looking at the TV in the showroom, it does not appear to have the same ultra clear panels found on the ES7000 & 8000 models. It also does not seem to have quite the same matte finish as found on the ES6500. Is the screen on the ES6900 similar to the ES6500, something in between the ES6500 and ES7000 series, or something else?

Actually, there is only one consideration you would need take into account when connecting other devices to a Samsung TV. The HDMI 1 port will be the port you would want to connect a PC to, since it offers the "PC" source setting. However, you can connect any of your devices to any of the HDMI ports since they all support the same input standard and all the ports will also support 3D.

As a matter of fact, the UN50ES6900 will offer the Smart Hub which includes Samsung Apps like Skype and Netflix (although I am not familiar with "whatsupp") and it will also offer 2D to 3D signal conversion.
