Sony has not yet tested iPhone5 with the Sony RDPXF300IP Docking Station. The connector of the iPhone 5 is different from that of the previous versions of iPhone. Therefore, you need to contact Apple support to check for availability of an adaptor to connect the iPhone 5 to devices which have older type connectors. The name of the connector on iPhone5 is Lightning port.

Question

Power supply and blue tooth for Sony RDPXF300iP Speaker Dock for iPod and iPhone

Hello,

I have 2 questions regarding this product.

1. Is the voltage on the power supply 110 to 240v? In other words, can I use this device outside of the USA without having to use a step down converter every time I plug it in?

2. Can I use this with any blue tooth device? The product information says it is for iPod and iPhone. Can I play music from itunes from my macbook via bluetooth?

thanks,
marty

1. The Rated External Power Source for the Sony RDPXF300IP Docking Station is: DC IN 20 V (with supplied AC adaptor (AC 100 V - 240 V, 50 Hz/60 Hz) or rechargeable battery pack NH-300RDP)

2. The Bluetooth feature in the Sony Docking Station has the Specification of Version 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and the compatible Bluetooth Profiles supported are: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile). If the Macbook supports this Bluetooth Profiles, then it is possible to use the Sony Docking Station with it.
