Although a contact filter will be available within the Google Play Store, the included browser will not offer parental controls or content filters. That said, there are other browsers available on the Google Play Store that may indeed offer such features.

Question

SD card storage.

I have read that you can not store apps on the SD card, but can I store media and docs like a word doc and PDF files? I will not need to edit or create any on the tablet, I can do that on a desk top.

I am looking for a tablet to replace my laptop as it is to big to carry on the ambulance all the time. I want to be able tsearchch the web via wifi, havaccessss to my docs such as listed above and have GPS. I like the 7" version as I can put it in Smallal carry bag with other stuff I need on dailyebasisis.

So would this be a good tablet for me?

Storing media and documents is what sd cards do best. You can also store your docs in the cloud using Google Drive or another type of Cloud service. Then you don't need to store documents on the sd card unless you don't have access to wifi. I agree the 7" size is very convenient to carry around! But tablets, as least at this point in time, are not complete substitutes for a laptop or desktop.
Some apps can't be transferred to an sd card, especially, I've heard, paid apps. The app storage issue I've found was always a bigger problem on my phone than on my tablet.
I'm very happy with this tablet so far, so yes, I'd recommend it to you, considering all the things you listed above were all things that you coudl do with this tablet pretty well. As for GPS, that would only work where you have wifi access, there's no 3g/4g with this tablet. Google Maps works but again, only where you have internet access.

The built in microSD card slot will allow you to store any content that is compatible with the Tab (including, but not limited to, PDF files, movie files, MP3s and other Documents). As for your other requirements, the Tab 2 7.0 will be able to access the internet via the built-in WiFi; you should have access to your docs through the microSD card slot, internal memory, or even through a cloud storage system; and finally, it will offer GPS.

I noticed there is a compatible Andoid app that is free. Since MS requires a license, I would think you would have to purchase a new license but I really don't see MS Office being compatible with Android since Microsoft is wanting to enter the tablet market themselve though not with Android.

Without a free book to test it, I can't say yes for sure. In theory, yes.

Since the Galaxy Tab 2 is not sold by a content provider, you should be able to download a book and open it with several different e-reader apps. Which e-reader app will work depends on the file type the ebook is formatted in. The format will appear at the end of the file name. For example a file might be named fakebook.txt. The letters at the end (.txt) is the file format.

Your best bet would be to use the Aldiko app, since it opens a wide variety of ebooks. Even better for you (perhaps) is that that app can be set to use a French language interface. The good news is that there are numerous free reading apps on the market for Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, so if one e-reader app won't open it, you are highly likely to find one that will.

The only reason you might run into a problem is if there is a restriction on book based on the region you live in versus the country you are trying to download it in. That has to do with publishing and copyright restrictions--not the device manufacturer. To answer that question, I would contact the website selling you the book.

Although I cannot recommend any apps (since I do not work for Best Buy or any of the other 3rd party app developers), I can say that the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (as well as all of the other Samsung Galaxy Tabs) will offer the ability to download and install Apps from the Google Play Store (which comes preloaded on the Tab).

Question

Device supports dual voltage?

HI! Im wondering if the tablet is made dual voltaged..The plug itself is not a big deal, the adapters are pretty cheap and light. However, if the tablet is made for 110 V only then I'll need a voltage converter, which will cost more and weigh more.

This tablet is not made dual voltaged, though it charges off of a Micro USB cable so you can use most modern phone chargers for it. So if you have an android phone it likely came with a wall adapter with a USB port that will work with this tablet. You can also charge it from a USB port on a computer.
