It depends on what recording speed you choose. On normal speed, the recording time on one side of a cassette will be 1/2 that of the advertised recording time of the cassette. On double recording time (half speed), the recording time on one side of a cassette will be the advertised recording time of the cassette.

There is no set distance for how far away you can place the ICDUX200 Recorder to pick up audio. there are different recording mode options, to cut white noise, low cut, change mic sensitivity and other recording factors to tailor your recording session to the environment around you.

see page 28 of the operating instructions for more detail.

Question

What is the actual size of the cassette tape.

The Specs says it is a "Standard Cassette Tape" -- We have cassette recorders @ our office that the doctors use for dictation so how do I know the cassettes we have here will work in this recorder? Our tapes say Sony MC-30 --- size 2" x 1 1/4" approximately.

thank you,

Sandy

Hello Sandy, This Recorder is for Normal Type I Cassette Tapes (4.5 x 2.8 x 0.5 inches) these are commonly called Audio tapes. Type 1 cassette media was widely used by the music industry in the 80s and 90s. this recorder is not for mini or micro cassettes as the MC30 media you are referring to.

If you wish to go tapeless for Voice-activated recording and up to 536 hours of recording time; or up to 4,000 hours of recording time with a microSD card installed (not included) check out the ICDSX712 .

The TCM-200DV doesn’t have am/fm tuner for listening to radio. However, the unit has a large playback speaker for improved sound.
