Well sometimes you got to find the one that's compatible with your cell phone you might want to ask at the store before you purchase the product.

Per the Android Forums, "The RAZR has a dedicated HDMI port and does not use MHL. You need a micro HDMI to HDMI cable."

Typically, when it doesn't work out is because the user is connecting the HDMI & the phone to the adapter but not connecting the adapter to the charging adapter as well. It has to be plugged into the wall to work.

Once you connect the equipment, and connect the phone charger to the adapter, see if you can select the HDMI port on the tv input list. Once that is done in the samsung menu you will want to activate the Samsung MHL service, which may be under the name Anynet, or Screen Mirroring.

When you change the tv to the correct input, you then want to start a video on the phone, like youtube or netflix, and see if the phone needs particular types of media to send out over MHL.

I’m going to recommend an HDMI reset. To do this, unplug the TV and shut down your phone. Disconnect the HDMI cable and the adapter from both ends and then reconnect them. TTurn your phone on. Once it has rebooted, plug in the TV.

Also make sure that your phone is set up to send the signal using the allshare cast app or screen sharing.

Question

Full Screen Does not Display on TV

Hello,

I have tried this product on both a Galaxy s4 and a Note II with two different TV's to get a full screen of the phone on the TV's. However, on several attempts I see some of the image but not all of it. This is important as I am trying to use the adapter to run presentations and i would say the corners are being truncated on the big screen. I have tried two adapters at Bestbuy, one actually worked for a bit then it would disconnect the other connection was great but the screen truncated. Thanks in Advance.

The cable in no way controls the resolution or picture size. Those functions are controlled by the TV and the phone and tablet. I would start with the TV and then move to the settings on the phone. On the TV, make sure it supports 1080p, that the aspect ratio is set to normal, and that overscan is turned off. As far as the phone goes, I really don't know which settings to change on it. That would be something to contact Samsung and ask.

Question

Why does signal to tv go on and off?

I was watching a movie from my Samsung Note II on my TV, there were moments during the movie when the signal was lost and the movie was paused. I had to get up and press play on my phone and the movie would play and TV would receive signal. I like the product but would like to see why this is happening before I return to store?

The cable is likely not the issue in this case. If the video is pausing on your phone, then most likely that is what is causing the whole thing to freeze. Since this is just a cable, there should be no reason why it would be causing you phone to pause the movie.

Key notes from the below setup instructions, make sure you complete step number one. Without power the unit will not work and if you have the Samsung Galaxy S2 you may need the adapter that comes with the product. Also, if your TV and phone support MHL, you don't need this cable. Although, this cable will still work if you plug the HDMI cord into an HDMI port that isn't labled that is an MHL support port.

Using your MHL adapter
1. Connect a micro USB wall charger (not
included) to the micro USB jack on the
MHL adapter and then into a power
outlet.
Note: We recommend using the micro USB
charger that came with your phone or other
device.
2. Connect one end of your HDMI cable
(not included) to the adapter and the
other to an available HDMI input jack on
your TV.
3. Connect the micro USB connector of
the MHL HDTV Adapter to an
MHL-enabled smart phone or tablet.
Important Note: Some Samsung MHL-enabled devices
require the included adapter to be connected to the
USB/MHL connector on the Samsung device. The micro USB
connector on the MHL cable then connects to the adapter.
Devices that require the adapter include the Galaxy S® III and
4 and Galaxy Note® II.
4. Turn on your smart phone or tablet.
5. Switch your TV to the HDMI input/
source that matches the input jack on
your TV. Content from your smart
phone or tablet will be displayed on
the TV.

I've had a few issues with add-on adapter that has caused this issue. Usually re-inserting it into the phone after connecting the HDMI to theTV works for me. (Note this was on a S4)
