Hello,

Dell does provide some international warranty assistance. A few points of interest:

There are 2 different scenarios here that you will want to look into: traveling and permanently moving.

1) Traveling - If you will just be traveling for a period of less than 6 months, the Dell International Services Program offers the security of knowing you can receive service and support when you travel with your Dell laptop outside your home country.

To qualify for international service, you must purchase at-least the Next Business Day On-site Response Service. I do not know the exact cost of this service plan.

Learn More:
http://dell.to/uBomOm
(also check out the Warranty Information options on the left menu)

2) Permanently Moving - If you purchase your Dell system in one region and move it to another, the hardware warranty will carry over; however it is limited to parts availability in the region in which you are moving it to. Complete Care/Accidental Damage does not carry over.

A good idea is also to take a look at the Dell website for the region you are moving to and compare it to the system you are interested in here. You will want to compare your configuration with what is available in that region. If there are differences, you may run into parts availability issues.

Finally, you will want to complete an International Ownership Transfer Form anytime the system is moved permanently to a new region:

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the XPS 12 Convertible computer! I do not really see a way to use the keyboard with the screen flipped, since when it is in "tablet" form, the screen covers the keyboard. Besides that, when the screen gets flipped out of its normal "laptop" position, the keys and touchpad are automatically disabled. I do not know of any way around this process at this point. My only suggestion might be the Dell Latitude 10 Tablet + the Kensington KeyFolio Bluetooth® Keyboard and Case.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the XPS 12 Convertible Ultrabook! As it turns out, the base of the laptop can also serve as a built-in adjustable stand for the screen. Hence, moving the screen out of its standard “laptop” position immediately disables the keyboard and trackpad, preventing accidental input.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the Dell XPS 12 Convertible! Yes, since this Ultrabook runs Windows 8 64-bit, you can install any Quickbooks version that also runs on Windows 8 64-bit. This laptop has 4GB of memory, which should be just fine to install and run Quickbooks. Just remember that this Ultrabook does not come with an internal CD/DVD player. Make sure that your Quickbooks software can be downloaded from the internet, transferred via USB Key or attach up an external CD player.

Hope this helps!

All computers available for purchase on BestBuy.com and in our U.S. retail stores feature North American QWERTY keyboards and English as the default system language. Alternate input/display languages can be selected, however, through the main control panel and Customizations menus. For additional information, make sure to check out the following article on Microsoft's official support site:

Yes, it has a mini display port output which Is quite flexible. With an adapter, you can connect VGA/DVI or HDMI.

Yes. It does have an HDMI port (it's a mini-port), but HDMI nonetheless. Its on the right side of the XPS b/t the power port and the usb ports. Also, what I bought was the net gear push2TV adapter, which basically pushes what I'm seeing on my laptop to my HDTV. It does this wirelessly using INTELWIDI, which comes preinstalled on the XPS. The netgear thing-amajiggy is this tiny black box that you connect to the back of your tv with an HDMI cable. Then you pair with device through your XPS screen. A little tricky at first, but cool.

You can! This laptop (SKU #7617041) can connect to HDTVs with an HDMI input through the use of a separate MiniDisplay-to-HDMI adapter.

Question

Are upgraded models available

Dell's website shows multiple models that have better processors, larger SSDs, as well as other things available. I would love to get this from Best Buy, but would like one of the upgraded models.

** The "I have the same question" link would not work so I am making this one to show the additional desire for the upgraded models of this convertible.

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the XPS 12 Ultrabook! As it turns out, the only Dell systems available here on Best Buy are the ones that are on the site currently for sale. Changes to the configuration are not possible before purchase, since these systems have been pre-assembled when Best Buy ordered them. I do not control what they purchase from Dell to be offered here on Best Buy, so the best bet is to keep checking back here to see if they have something configured the way you want.

Hope this helps!
