No, this mouse does not require programming. It is plug and play, meaning you simply plug the USB device into your computer and it will automatically install the necessary drivers to recognize the device.

I haven't had this problem as of yet. My batteries are a little tight and I used a toothpick to catch the edge of one to pop it out the last time I changed them. I would say if you can't lightly pop them up with a toothpick or get them to come out by lightly tapping the mouse against the palm of your hand then I would bring it back to where you purchased it.

You can use any device with a thin blade to pop them out. I usually use the edge of a butter knife to pop them out.

The red light is supposed to go off after 10 seconds. If the mouse isn't working, then it is either loosing power or getting disconnected. I would check the batteries and make sure they are firmly connected. You might also try new batteries just to make sure. After that, pull the nano receiver out and reconnect it to your computer and hit the connect button on your mouse.

If it still won't work, then return it to the Geeksquad at your local Best Buy for warranty work.

answer 2
Three possible solutions:
1) For a wireless mouse, check the battery.
2) For a corded mouse, check the connection or try attaching it to a different USB port.
3) For a corded mouse which came with your PC, you might need to download the drivers again. Try the company website for alternate solutions.

Question

Will the wireless receiver work with multiple mouses?

I already have a Dynex Wireless Laptop Mouse - Model No DX-NPWLMSE - with the USB wireless connector. At the moment I am taking my mouse with me between my house and studio. I was hoping to purchase an additional mouse - the DX-WLM1401-BK - and leave one mouse at my house and the other mouse at my studio, leaving the one USB wireless connector in my MacBook Pro.

Will this work? Is the USB wireless piece compatible with those two different models? If that doesn't work, what if I bought two of this model?

No it will not work that way. The dongle is paired to that specific mouse. If you buy 2 of these, then you can leave one at work, but you will have to change the dongle for each one.

Sometimes with my wireless mouse (more from the cheaper ones I have had in the past) they would bug out on me the pointer would freeze up on me and I would it around a bit and get it to working. Later on I figured out that the wireless transmitter that plugs into the computer was out of range and I was sitting right next to it at my desk. So if this is happening to you I would advise relocating your USB wireless transmitter to closest USB to your mouse. If that does fix your problem I would advise going to bestbuy and buy a wireless mouse with better range or buy a wired mouse. Hope this helped.

answer 2
The first thing to do is to try new batteries. Since this started after the battery change, that would possibly fix it. The next step is to restart your computer. If it still does not work, the last troubleshooting step is to try to adjust the setting inside the control panel. If the mouse is still constantly freezing, then the only thing left to do is take it back to the Best Buy store for repair/replacement. If there are any issues at the store, then please call us at 1-800-305-2204 from the store so we can help you out.

I had the same mouse and I hated it. I could not keep it working and it went batteries quickly. I finally cut my loses and chucked the mouse in the trash and paid $3 more than what I paid for this mouse. If you are able return it quickly.

We also use these within 5 feet of each other and there has been no interference with them at all. They connect to the chip you plug into the computer and there doesn't seem to be a problem with them mixing signals.
