However, the audio playback of this unit can be improved upon dramatically in my experience with an upgrade to the Sony Extra Bass MDR-XB500 headphones. The Sony Extra Bass stereo headphones produce copious amounts of detailed dynamic bass when combined with the playback accuracy of the Sony Walkman CD Player D-EJ011. This must be something with the new Sony CD Walkman. I, too listen to audiobooks. That's the only reason I use the CD Walkman. I had the same model; it just quit after 2 years. It always remembered where I'd left off, including with music. I never had to program it.

The older Sony power adapter model that you have provided is not consistent with the supported AC power adapter model number that is outlined in this unit’s user manual.
