Both the DVD Recorder & VCR and the discs are coded by region. These regional codes must match in order for the disc to play. If the codes do not match, the disc will not play. If you purchase the unit within the North American Territories, it will only have support for "All" Region and Region 1 DVDs ("All Region" DVDs refers to DVDs that are marked as region 0 or "Region All". This does not mean the player can play every regions’ DVD).

If your TV offers additional connections such as composite (yellow) or component (RGB), or even HDMI (DVD output only), you should be able to connect the DVD-VR375 to it. the unit also comes with coax input/outputs so you can pass your signal from your converter box to your TV. However, the coax connection does not pass the output signal of the DVD Recorder & VCR. To watch output signal of the DVD Recorder & VCR, you must connect the audio/video as stated above.

If you put in a VHS you want to be recorded to a DVD, you can press one button to record to the DVD. I would suggest you connect it to a TV so you can see what you are recording. Other then that, you don't really need to connect anything else. -MrSamsung

With most current VCR models, a tuner is not built into the unit any longer. If you want to record from an external source, you will need to use one of the other inputs on the unit. -MrSamsung

Unfortunately it can only record on one medium at a time. You would be able to record from a VHS to the DVD or from an external source to the DVD, but it can not record on both at the same time.

The best way to connect the DVD-VR375 to your TV is through an HDMI cable. This will allow for the best possible picture quality transmitted.

I sincerely apologize for the confusion.

The 375A has a standard analog tuner. The 375 has no tuner.
