The iPod touch (Late 2009) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. All iPod touch models introduced in Late 2009 have two or three lines of text below the capacity engraving. The prior iPod touch (2nd generation) had four lines of text or more.

There is no such thing as a "3rd Generation" Ipod Touch.. Just a late 2009 model.

Ask apple, it is from their site

no they don't!!!!!!! i have one myself and they don't! Believe me, my friends have higher gigabite ipod touches too and you don't see them taking pictures all over creation with it! you know why, because they don't have a camera!!!Maybe the staff members should check themselves first, before they tell the whole world that there is!!but, the ipod nanos do and the iphones do!! the ipod touches can do plenty of things if you want entertainment, but the ipod touches cannot take pictures!so, when you get your ipod i hope you don't forget so you won't be bummed out!!

If you are already paying for the internet in your home AND you have purchased a router which supports wifi, you will not have to purchase anything further to browse the internet from your home.

A surprising number of businesses also support wifi and make it available to their customers. Some of these places would charge you for accessing the internet through their network, but many of them are freely available.

As most have stated, if you have a router at home there is no issue. But not everywhere that has wifi will it work. You have to have either the pass code if the wifi is private, or pay for the service that is available at most coffee shops. WIFI does not equal free connection.

Some universities require your student log on info. If you find an unsecured location, then you are lucky. Good luck.

Definitely go for the larger model. I originally bought the 8gb and ran out of space too quickly then I skipped and went straight to a 32g instead of a 16g the extra space is definitely worth the $100 especially if you like to use it to store pictures and movies (since so many dvd's and blu-rays automatically come w/ digital copies now)

Yes
Think about it, 32 is 4 times the memory for 100 dollars.
The iPod does not have RAM like a computer and your computer has usualy at least one gig of ram up to 3 on systems with 32 bit operating systems and 4 to 8 or more on a 64 bit system. So having a 8 gig hard drive while using space for music, games, videos then throw in the internet it may and will slow you down. The extra space is worth buying.

answer 1
Your best bet would be the 32g over the 8g for two reasons. First, the 32g boasts a faster processor than the 8g. Secondly, ipods do not have RAM and therefore use the flash memory (the 8 or 32g) to process things. That means that when you open an app or surf the web, the ipod automatically uses some of your storage space as RAM to run programs faster and when your ipod is full with music and the like, it runs slower because there is less space for the ipod to use as RAM. Hope this helps!

there should be no difference in speed. the size really depends on how much you intend to store. I have 16gb on mine (transferred from my classic ipod) but then you start adding apps. if youre going to have a lot of movies and videos and games, it will eat your space quickly.
