I'm not aware of any Samsung product that comes factory unlocked. Unlocking on Android is called rooting, and rooting voids warranties. once you root a phone you gain access to the root directory and in Android this opens you up to a variety of problems because now a hacker has administrative access to your root directory.

there is no phone app pre-installed on the tab. The sim card is setup to disallow phone connections. Overcome those obstacles and maybe you can turn your tablet into a phone

No, an AT&T contract and Sim chip would be necessary to link it to a carrier.

You might reach out to AT&T and see if they have any current or upcoming models available with their services.

It's all app dependent, but yes. My experience on limits is the battery. If you have it connected to power, no limits.

Yes it can. How well the audio is captured depends on how close the tablet is to your teacher, if you're sitting in the back of the room don't expect good results. The length of the recording is only limited by the amount of storage available

I don't think the actual Microsoft program will work, but all of the files can be read and edited with a different app (Polaris office).

Sure. I think you can only return and exchange it if you bought it at a BestBuy Store...provide your receipt and you should be fine since you bought it recently.

The Tablet runs on the Android OS. You'd have to check Microsoft to see if they offer an official and compatible Office product for the Android operating system.

There are other products available that can read, write or create word processing, spreadsheet and presentation documents in the Play Store.
