Questions & Answers for Samsung - LinkStick Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter

Question

Which LinkStick wireless adapters work?

I have a Samsung UN46C7100WF 3D TV. I went to the Samsung site and it does not list any compatible accessories beyond the 3D glasses. I am looking for a compatible LinkStick.

Question

connect samsung b640 to netgear wcne 3001

Instead of using linksys from Samsung, can I connect the netgaer wcne 3001 wireless adapter to the LAN port on the b640 and use the Netgear WNDR 3400 wireless router to provide internet access to the TV?

If so, any special notes on setting it up? Samsung manual says wireless only works with its linksys.

Currently, the only wireless adapter that can be used with the appropriate Samsung TVs is the Samsung Linkstick WIS09ABGN. The reason for this is that all other usb wireless adapters require drivers to work. Since there is no feasible way to transfer and save hundreds of different drivers for each adapter on the TVs, Samsung created a USB wireless adapter that will work 100% of the time (plug-n-play), with out drivers.

Although the D550 does not have direct access to Samsung Apps (like Netflix, Pandora or YouTube), it can display App content from a 2010-11 Samsung BD player (the blu-ray player will handle the Internet content processing, similar to how a monitor will display the PC’s video signal). Additionally, although this model offers AllShare DLNA for streaming saved content from a DLNA device (PC, Cell Phone, Etc.) through a wired or wireless connection with a Samsung Linkstick(wis09abgn/wis09abgnx) to a home network, the Linkstick itself cannot add Internet@TV or Smart TV functionality. The Linkstick can only facilitate a network connection to Samsung Devices that already offer either network connectivity or Internet@TV and Samsung Apps.

Question

Does Linkstick work with Samsung PN51D6500D & UN46D8000 TV's?

LinkStick Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter WIS09ABGNX. Will it work with these Samsung TV's? I can access my wireless network with both TVs using the built-in wireless connection, and I can then browse the internet. But neither TV will retain the network authentication code when I power the TV off. I have to re-enter the code each time I turn the TV on.

Since these two TVs offer the built in WiFi system that cannot be turned off or bypassed, the Linkstick will not offer any additional functionality to these TVs. That said, if both the D6500 Plasma and D8000 LED TVs are having issues connecting to your wireless home network, then perhaps there may be an issue on the router's side that is preventing the TV's from saving the password and information. I would suggest contacting Samsung Service directly for further assistance.

You may be able to stream Netflix to your Mac, but Netflix would have to confirm that.

The television would not be able to support Netflix, but if you had a newer Blu-Ray player, you could stream Netflix to that Blu-Ray player and play it on your LN46A650 television.

Question

Will my Samsung Qwerty remote work?

I have a Samsung model 6000 LED TV and I bought the Samsung Qwerty remote but it is not compatible with this TV. I am assuming because the TV does not have wireless built in. My question is if I add a Samsung LinkStick to my TV will my Qwerty remote now work?
