Questions & Answers for Frigidaire - 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - Bisque

Question

Can the beep tone volume be turned down? If not, to turn it off altogether, where is the User Pref Pad you refer to previously?

I find the beep is very loud and piercing. I would prefer to turn the volume down rather than off altogether. Thank-you.

Thank you for your submission. Microwave model FGMV173KQ does not have the option to adjust the volume. The User Preference Pad is located above the auto cook option. We hope this information proves to be of assistance, we are also welcome to receiving any concerns or question you may have via this website’s Q&A forum.

Yes, there are black finished side panels on this model. So it will look fine if one side of the unit is exposed.

The mounting bracket and template are included with the microwave, so in most cases there are no additional parts required to install this unit.

Question

Does this model beep 3 times at the end of the cycle even if you open the door or push cancel?

Some other Frigidaire microwave oven models have 3 loud beeps when the cycle is over...you can not stop the beeps even if you open the oven door or push cancel. Does this model have that feature? Thank you for taking the time to respond.

On page 20 of the Use and Care manual you will find the instructions to eliminate the audible signal.

Details are:

Audible Signal Elimination: If you wish to have the oven operate with no audible signals, press the user pref pad, number 2 and the STOP clear pad.

To cancel and restore the audible signal, press the user pref pad, number 2 and the START enter +30 sec pad.
