These speakers are not like the usual USB speakers, they are separately powered. Just plug your headphones into the jack under the blue light and it should work with no problems. If it doesn't, its either the headphones or the speakers are defective. If you have access to another set of headphones you can check it out that way. You do not have to unplug the speakers from the computer.

As long as they're in good condition (and you hopefully have the box), customer service will most likely give you store credit for the item's lowest price within the last few months. Make sure our bring some forms of ID though.

If you are a Reward Zone Member, you can print the receipt from the website to your printer.
Customer Service may be able to see your purchase at the store if you have a Reward Zone ID # or Card fro them to swipe.
Also, electronic purchases will fall under store policy on returns.
Hope this helps.

Per our return policy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-Topics/Returning-Online-Purchases/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260800050014, "the original receipt, gift receipt or packing slip is required for all returns and exchanges. If returning or exchanging an item in a Best Buy store, a valid photo ID is also required".

So, unfortunately, no you would need a copy of the purchase receipt to return it

As I have said to another questioner, the problem is either the speakers or the headphones are defective. Check using two different headphones plugged into the jack under the blue light on the speakers and make sure the speaker control on the speaker is turned up. It should work with no problem.

They function well for a basic set of stereo speakers for under Ten Bucks!
I use these on my I-Pad, Desk Top, and Lap-Top.
You sacrifice Bass due to no amplifier however you may elect to tweak your settings via software such as win-amp, or I-Tunes Amp.
For the money, I find these to be exceptional.
I own a pair and cannot find any information regarding wattage.
Hope this helps!

USB compability?

My computer is an H-P HDMI, Windows Vista, 2008 product. It has two USB ports on the side of the monitor which I can use for speakers. All other ports and plug-ins are already occupied, so I'm looking for speakers that can use USB.
