Will this printer continue to print b&w copies even when color ink cartridge has run out?

The HP Photosmart Premium Wireless Printer/ Copier/ Scanner (CD055A) requires that all ink cartridges be installed and functioning with some ink present in order to operate. This printer will not work if any of the ink cartridges are empty or missing.

Monochrome printing can be set as the default or it can be selected only for a specific print job. This is done through the included software.

Question

Does it print on CD/DVD's?

I see in the specs it shows CD's and DVD's as one of the media types, but when I was researching this printiner on HP's web site it did not indicate that it could print directly onto a CD/DVD. Does anyone know if it does in fact print on CD/DVD's?

No it does not. I know my older printer does but it seems HP is getting away from this as these special loaders were often jamming and destroying carriage mechanisms.

I apologize for the miss information. The HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One (CD055A) does not print on CD/DVDs however, the HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Printer (CC335A) does.

Yes this is truly an automatic double-sided printer. But the down-side to using double-sided is that it takes about 4 times longer to print documents because the printer must stop for several seconds at the end of each side to allow the ink to dry before sucking it back into the printer.

What you would need is a separate OCR software program. The lower cost ones don't work very well and those that do work can be quite expensive. Doing character recognition is still not well perfected in technology yet.

They are the same printer. Hewlett-Packard will often assign multiple product and/or model numbers to the same product for sales tracking purposes through different distribution channels. I apologize for any confusion.
