answer 1
No, ink cartridges are not interchangeable. I've tried with other sizes comparing the cartridges and they are identical yet when I put the "wrong" one into the printer, it immediately rejects in with an onscreen notification stating it's the wrong cartridge.

Let's preface that with I dunno... and not many of us will want to experiment whether it'd work (ink is expensive, yo).

Buy the 60, if you want to "save" money, buy the 60xl. Any of the xl will contain 3x more ink as their regular counterparts. And no, 57 probably doesn't work.

The big difference is that HP60 gives you about 165 pages printed and the HP60xl gives you about 440 pages printed. The price difference is about $22 more for the HP60 xl. I hope this helps answer your question.

You would need to check the side of the package where it lists the printer model numbers. If yours is not on the package check one of the othe sizes for your model. My printer uses the HP -60 High Yield In Cartridge.
Hp-61 High Yield is used for different prints than the one I have.

No, this ink will not work with your printer. I think the biggest difference between the two types of ink is the size and shape of the cartridges. The 61 ink will fit in your printer, while the 60 ink fits in mine. I don't have a clue why they don't just have one cartridge that fits all inkjet printers, and one that fits all laser printers and so on, but that's how it works. :-\
I hope that helps,

Yes, there is the price difference. The HP60 xl gives you more printed pages. For the HP60 black ink is 200 pages printed and the HP60 xl black ink gives you 600 pages printed. The HP60 color ink gives you 165 pages printed and the HP60 xl color ink gives you 440 pages printed. If you do alot of printing the HP60 xl in black or color ink is the better buy. I hope this helps. You can always ask the Best Buy staff these questions.

I googled your question and it appears the correct HP ink for your HP Deskjet 2050 printer is the HP61. The HP61xl just gives you more printouts. It will last longer, but does cost more as well. My family and I do alot of printing, so I usually try to purchase the HP ink that has the xl on it. I hope this information helps you. Ask the staff at Best Buy and they can help you as well.
