The outside dimensions of the RFG237 are 35-3/4" wide by 69-3/4" high with hinges by 24-3/16" deep without doors, or 30-1/2" deep with doors and handles.

Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" above and behind, and 1" on each side, of this refrigerator to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently. If either side will open into a full wall, then a minimum clearance of 3-3/4" is required on that side for the handles to clear so the door can open 90 degrees.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Is it possible your refrigerator is in "Cooling Off" (Demo) mode? If the lights are on but the refrigerator and freezer are both not cooling, then it is likely in Cooling Off mode. To cancel this mode, press the Power Freeze and Freezer buttons at the same time for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and the compressor turns on.

If the refrigerator is cooling but the freezer is not, or vice versa, then your refrigerator will require service. I would suggest you contact your Best Buy sales associates for assistance with this new unit.

The RF266AERS has a lever located above the icebucket that detects when the bucket is full and turns the icemaking function off until ice is removed.

The water dispenser in this model is located on the inside left wall of the refrigerator compartment. I've attached a picture indicating its location.

The RF266AERS, like other Samsung refrigerators, cannot be ordered without the icemaker which is factory-installed. If you do not wish to use this feature, you may choose to turn it off by pressing the "ICE OFF" button on the control panel and using the ice bin storage in the freezer for another purpose.

The water filter in Samsung's RF266AERS is located inside the refrigerator, above the upper right shelf. It should not be necessary to pull the whole refrigerator out, though some customers find it easier to remove and replace the filter with the water line shut off at the valve. This is usually not necessary, however.

The level of difficulty of removing and reattaching the refrigerator doors on the RF266AERS depends on your comfort level using some basic tools (screwdrivers, allen wrench, etc.). This task really requires two people, so one can hold the door in place while the other works with the tools to disassemble then reassemble the hinges. I would suggest reviewing the instructions beginning on page 9 of the User Manual (which can be downloaded as a pdf from Samsung's website) to determine the level of difficulty based on your own comfort level. Regarding the removal of the freezer drawer, there is actually an easier method than the one described in the User Manual. Just follow these steps:
1. Open the freezer drawer and remove the upper "Auto Pull-Out" freezer drawer by lifting it up and pulling it toward you.
2. Locate the white plastic release buttons located toward the rear of the metal freezer drawer railing on both the right and left side.
3. Pull the freezer drawer out while pressing the release buttons. The entire drawer and railing should pull out together.
4. To reassemble, just align and slide the drawer rail back onto the track, being sure to push it in the entire way so the buttons lock back in place, then replace the upper bin.

Keep in mind that Best Buy's Appliance Associates are able to help arrange your delivery and installation, including removing and reattaching your doors, if needed.

Question

For moving purposes is it okay to lay the refrigerator on its side for a few minutes?

In order to get the fridge into the kitchen it needs to be laid on its side to get through the opening. Would that cause any damage to the unit?

Laying the refrigerator on its side would not damage the internal system, but it's very important to allow it to stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in to avoid potential serious damage to the cooling system. I would also exercise caution to avoid scratching or denting the outside of the refrigerator.

Thanks for the question!

The full depth of the RF266AERS refrigerator with the freezer drawer fully extended is 54-1/2"; the depth with the refrigerator doors open 90-degrees is 47-3/4". Samsung recommends leaving another 2" clearance behind the unit to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to work properly and most efficiently.

If you find that you do not have the full 56-1/2" clearance needed to be able to open the freezer drawer the whole way, you may want to consider Samsung's 23 cubic foot counter depth model RFG237AARS. The full depth needed to extend the freezer drawer and allow for the 2" clearance in the rear is only 48-1/4" for this model.
