Use four M5 screws (metric). You can buy them at any hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot. Length is unknown, you can buy a few sizes like 12mm, 18mm or 24mm long and take back the ones that won't fit (too long)

You must have replaced an older set. Some sets today limit the volume output on headphones. Also the power is only enough for headphones, and won't drive the heavier speakers. You will need to use a speaker system especially designed for PC's or iPods and have internal amplifiers. This means they will need to plug into a 120V source of power. Best Buy sells the Bose Companion speakers for PC's.($99 and up) I have both the Bose and Klipsch, but the Klipsch sound system is mind bogglingly awesome. ($154), and well worth the extra 56 bucks.

answer 2
The headphone jack provides a very low wattage, more than enough for regular headphones, but not enough for speakers. Although they use the same connection type, when trying to use speakers for this particular output, you will need the signal to be boosted by an amplifier (external or built in).

answer 1
VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association), is an international standards body for computer graphics founded in 1989 by NEC Home Electronics and eight other video display adapter manufacturers.

VESA's initial goal was to produce a standard for 800×600 SVGA resolution video displays. Since then VESA has issued a number of standards, mostly relating to the function of video peripherals in personal computers.

VESA works to develop industry-wide interface standards for a large variety of products including Flat Panel TVs and monitors.

Television manufacturers that build their sets to interface with a PC as a computer monitor do so in accordance with the VESA association. If it has a PC input, it is VESA compliant.

If you're mounting your television to a wall, you'd need 4 of the M6 screw size. If it's being mounted to the stand, you'd need 4 of the M5 screw size.

Question

Installing TV on back porch.

We have a covered back porch. We live in Central Texas and we get temperature variations from +110F to +10F. I wanted to know if I can install this hdtv on my back porch w/o any worries due to temperature extremes. I have used on old style tv on the back porch for 6+ years with no issues, but never an HDTV.

Below 50 degrees the picture quality will be impaired as the liquid crystals are slower to react. It might shorten the LCD life.

The operating conditions for our LCD TVs (according to the manual's specs) are:
Temperature: 41°F - 95°F
Humidity: 20% - 80% RH
Atmospheric pressure: 86 KPa - 106 KPa

It is not recommended to operate the TV outside these values.

Sounds like a warranty issue. If out of warranty, just buy a universal remote. If it is a TV issue, then a warranty service is a must.

If you believe the remote control is responsible for the problem, remove the batteries, press all of the buttons and install fresh batteries. This resolves most remote control issues. Otherwise, try resetting the TV to factory defaults and performing a new channel scan.

Press MTS/SAP on the remote control one or more times for the on screen menu and select Stereo. Alternatively, press MENU on the remote control and select Audio. From there you may make any needed adjustments to your TV's sound output. More details can be found in the owner's manual.
