On the UN26C4000, although there is only one component/composite combo input; there are 2 additional HDMI connections that will allow you to connect those devices to the TV (if your devices offer HDMI connections). If your devices do not offer HDMI, you can acquire a component/composite switch to add additional devices to the TV. For more information on this, please contact your local Best Buy store.

The UN26C4000 does offer a swivel stand that allows the TV to swing from side to side at up to 20 degrees. That said, the unit can not tilt up or down, but can be viewed from a corner position.

As a matter of fact, the UN26C4000 does have closed captioning. In order to access it, you can head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. CC, as far as I know, is not sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from your service providers set top boxes. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability.

Question

Veticall resolution and refresh rate seem low

This set has a vertical resolution of 720p and a refresh rate of 60Hz which seems low compared to larger sets I'm looking at that are 1080p and 120Hz. Does this mean the picture quality will not be as good or the picture will not be as good with fast action?

This television has exceptional clarity and color. I have not had any problems with fast action quality. Unlike the LG 26", when fast action was in mode the pixels took forever to catch up with the picture, making the quality of the picture choppy and blotchy. All the squares of the color would be all over the screen. Not with the Samsung 26" LED/LCD.

For a unit this size, the resolution and refresh rate are actually quite normal. All of the Samsung HDTVs that are 26" and lower all show a maximum signal of 720p and 60Hz. Although you may not experience the same high resolution and fast motion processing that one of the larger Samsung TVs offer, the UN26C4000 will offer incredibly good picture quality non-the-less.

The DYNAMIC contrast ratio is 2,000,000:1. They do not list the standard contrast ratio and is not even specified in the manual. Being a 4,000 model, I think the contrast ratio is 4,000:1 but cannot be totally certain.

answer 2
The dynamic contrast ratio of the UN26C4000 is at 2,000,000:1. Dynamic contrast Ratio is the contrast ratio of the TV set with all of the contrast enhancing features turned on and working properly. Some of these features can include the panel finish (Filter Bright and Ultra Clear panels), the active back light unit, and the panel processor (Crystal FHD Engine and the Wide Color Enhancer). Due to not being able to deactivate most of these features, there is no published standardized static or native contrast ratio for Samsung TVs.

Absolutely! In order to access the timer, you will want to head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu. Once there head into the time option, and you should see the timer setup. Also you can press the "Tools" button on your remote to bring up the mini menu where you can easily select your timer settings.

Yes, as long as th USB is not protected by its liscensed author, or you might have to try and configurate it. But in the manual, on page 25 I believe, it will tell you what configurates with the Samsung 26".

As a matter of fact, the UN26C4000 will allow you to connect a USB device and play movies, music and photos right on the TV. The USB device needs to be formatted in the Fat file system, offer Mass Storage Mode, and offer non-DRM material.

The Samsung UN26C4000 has stereo sound which comes out of the bottom of the TV. Because this TV is so thin, there is not much room for speakers and the sound is lacking in bass frequencies, however there is an audio output jack which allows hookup to an audio system. This allows the TV sound to come thru loudspeakers of adequate performance and the audio is very good this way.
