Ensure all connections are secure. Try power cycling the TV: turn it off, unplug it and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on and restore settings back to factory defaults.

Still experiencing issues: I would suggest taking it, and the receipt, back to the place of purchase to pursue service repairs. This has a 1 year manufacturer's warranty.

Service plans are available in varying lengths, and their respective sale prices are dependent on the purchase price of the covered item. To determine the cost of service plan coverage for most items on BestBuy.com, simply add that item to your cart and click on the "Protect It" tab that appears in the following menu.

Question

regular antenna hookup, too

i do not have cable. Just a regular house antenna into my current tvs.
in all the write up about this tv, i see no mention of a antenna hook up, i have no clue what those other things mean.
I thought I could get a new tv and get rid of my old heavy one and the special box I had to buy.
Can someone who has no cable or no internet - use this tv???

No you cannot play a movie from the USB port. USB ports are for .jpeg (pictures) playback.

With firmware upgrades, you should not require a firmware update on this TV. Firmware upgrades would be available (if necessary) on its product page under the Support/Downloads tab:

Well, there is something called Roku that can be plugged into it which does that I think. I personally used an HDMI cable a d attached my laptop to stream Netflix. But it is not a "smart tv" that has the Internet built in... Hope that helps.

Sounds like a glitch or funky setting. On my TV its perfectly normal. You can try to ask the manufacturer, or look through the TV's settings.
