Question

Water filter replacement issue

We replaced the water filter for our Samsung RF4267HARS. Now the water dispenser won't work if the new filter is installed and it also won't work if we put the old filter back in. The only way the water dispenser will produce water is if no filter is installed. We have held the water down with the filter in to release any air potentially in the line and this doesn't work. Any ideas on what the issue is?

I bought a brand new Samsung showcase fridge from BEST BUY in July. I just replaced it after 6 months with this worthless imitation. I would highly recommend against this filter. It flooded my kitchen, or attempted to. I had to replace the old filter! Return right away.

We had that as well. It had frozen up near the connector and a minute with a hair dryer cleared it up.

Question

The manual for the RF2HFENDSR shows and says use the HAF-CIN filter...are you saying this is not the case?

The diagram shows the blue fridge water line going thru the HAF-CIN....however I have the HAF-CIN/EXP and I see no way to run the water line thru it.

Thanks for the question. Samsung has several similar models of Refrigerator (including the RF26HFPNBSR) which do have built-in filtration systems and use the HAF-CIN filter; the RF26HFENDSR does not. For this reason it's recommended that you consult with either your Best Buy retailer or plumber for help choosing an external system and compatible filter cartridge that will suit your needs.

Thanks for the question. I believe you're referring to the RF26HFENDSR French Door Refrigerator. You'll need to speak with your Best Buy Appliance Team or a local plumber for help choosing an external filtration system for this model, as well as the cartridge that should be used with the system you choose.

Apparently not. Manufactures push sales not service! Try installing a bypass filter (if it exists) in your frig and use an external filter system. From BBY.

I use the "b" filter in my refrigerator and I have no issues. My refrigerator is originally set to take the "a" filter but they no longer make them as far as I know.

There are different product codes that are used to describe the same filter with the model number HAF-CIN; DA29-00020A/B and DA29-00020B are the same. When installing the new filter it may take a little longer for the water to run through, but make sure it's locked in place. Once the water does flow through, be sure to dispenser up to 5-6 gallons to bleed air from the lines.

I'm not really sure what it stands for it may just be part of the model number or a part number. You need to know the model number of your refrigerator which you should be able to find inside of it on one of the side panels. The filters list which refrigerator model numbers that they will work with. The off brands will not work with my fridge even though it listed it as being compatible so I went with the samsung brand. Hope this helps.

These suffixes are internal codes and don't indicate any difference in terms of design or compatibility. Both are compatible with the same refrigerator models.

Question

The manual of my Samsung RFG28MESL refrigerator indicates the HAF-CIN/XME as the proper water filter for the model.

However, I cannot find it with the extension "XME". Wherever I look for a Samsung refrigerator Water filter , I can only find as HAF-CIN. Are these models exactly the same?

Yes, the HAF-CIN and HAF-CIN/XME are the same. The model number you've provided for the refrigerator is not consistent with any current models, but if your refrigerator's manual indicates the HAF-CIN/XME then the HAF-CIN will also fit.

Thanks for choosing Samsung!

Question

RF28HMEDBSR/AA - Will DA29-00020B work?

Hello,

I feel almost silly posting this but after reviewing all of the compatibility links, I can't find any confirmation that my refrigerator will work with the DA-29-00020B cartridge. It looks like it fits but now there is a strange noise coming from the fridge whenever water is dispensed. Please advise!

Sounds like it could be air still trapped in the lines after the change out. If you havent done so already, flush the line for about 5 minutes or about 10 gallons of water.

Thanks for the question. The DA29-00020B is the correct cartridge for the RF28HMEDBSR/AA Refrigerator. The noise may be due to air in the lines which is a normal occurrence after changing the filter. Bleeding the air by dispensing 5-6 gallons of water should resolve this issue. In addition, pressing the test button on the ice maker to reset it should help to prevent the temporary change in water pressure from interfering with ice production. Instructions can be found on page 23 of the user manual.

Question

It leaks no matter what

I put a new filter in and it leaks. I shut the valve off and installed the new filter. I then ran about 4-5 gallons of water to make sure the lines were clear. About 20 mins later, I notice it was dripping from the front of the filter where you lock/unlock it. Please help!! How do I get it to stop leaking/dripping???

Spend about $400 and have the entire filter housing replaced by a Samsung Tech. I hope your refrigerator is still under warranty. The Replacement filters sold at Best Buy are not the same as the Original (OEM) filter. That being said, using the replacement filter damages the filter receptacle on the refrigerator, which leads directly to the dripping. To immediately stop the drip, just remove the filter. The bypass system will still allow the water to go to the water dispenser and the ice makers.

According to the manual drips are normal when installing / replacing. It may be air pressure preventing the filter from locking correctly. I waited 12-24 hours (norm for Samsung) before installing second time and with only a few drips. It may also be a bad filter. Call or Chat with a Samsung tech they are very helpful and will send instructions and diagrams while waiting online for you to attempt to correct issue.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your refrigerator and filter. I would suggest calling either 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to help determine whether service will be necessary in this instance.

Thank you,
