Origiinal Blackberry 8520 charger gives output 5v/ 700mA, and rocketfish RF-MCB55 gives 5v/ 600mA. Doe´s it will damage my battery? Other (5v / 500mA) brand car charger did, it burned my batery in les than one month....
Most phones use a smart charging system that will not allow over or under voltage to a phone. As a result the charger should not damage the battery, it might take a little longer to charge back that will be the only difference. The battery that was previously damaged was likely jsut because it was a bad battery and not a result of the charger.
I use it regularly. I don't see the lights on the charger switch off after the battery is charged, which kind of tells us that it does not shut down when the battery is fully charged. However, this is something that one cannot be sure unless the manufacturer confirms the behaviour. I haven't noticed any problems if it stays connected.
I have Samsung Infuse and this Rocketfish Vehicle Charger does fit and shows it is charging yet never charges it beyond yellow level and looses that charge very quickly. Do not purchase.
