Keys stick for a variety of reasons and normally age isn't one of them. If it is past the warranty, I would suggest getting canned air and "blow" the keyboard out. Also take a electronic cleaning bad and wipe down the keyboard.
Never had that happen with any of these we purchase these for our users and most of them last a very long time. It sounds to me like something has gotten into the keyboard such as liquid or something sticky.
Yes it will work with most any hardware since the keyboard is setup and a standard interface across all or at least most computers. Windows doesn't matter because the keyboard is emulated by the hardware.
