Hi The RX100M III is much faster at the telephoto end of the focal range. It has a maximum aperture of F2.8 at 70-mm, compared to RX100m II's F4.9 at 100-mm. And the RX100M III uses BionzX image processor that is much faster than the Bionz image processor in RX100M II. -Anthony
The RX100M2 itself does not have a microphone jack. The only way to connect external audio to it is via the multi interface hot shoe.
You can buy an external microphone such as the ECM-XYST1M which mounts directly on the hot shoe, or the XL1-K1M adapter which allows you to connect two external audio inputs via XLR jacks.
