Q:
I have an older SDTV collecting dust. There is only one input on the back of the TV--to connect to cablevision (coaxial cable?).
Would this Roku device work with this stand-alone TV? If yes, what other connections do you need for it to work, or setup?
I assume you need an A/C outlet solely for the Roku. There is wifi in my home, but no wireless on TV. TV is standard definition, not connected to any cable or satellite service.
If possible, I would like to stream movies to a room with no cable service (landlord will not allow extra jacks to be installed and current cable service/TiVo is on a splitter...on the other TVs in home, not the one I am considering buying Roku for).
Will this device work with my older TV to view Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime videos...already pay for those services.
Thank you, in advance to anyone who have the patience to help educate this nontech saavy senior.
