Yes, but it depends. The provider should not make any difference as long as the modem is compatible. Which it is almost certainly is. Just make sure to clone the MAC address once you have it set up so that the modem and the ISP sees the router as a "friend" instead of foreign. If all else fails, keep the receipt.
Help! I have DSL for my desktop, and have NEVER used wifi, so I haven't the vaguest idea of what I need for the Nook Color I bought today. I need to keep the price down, but want a good product that is very easy to install and use.
The Belkin N300 router will connect to your DSL modem and then provide a wireless signal for your Nook. You can still connect your computer to the router via a wired connection as the router contains 4 wired networking ports.
Yes, it doesn't connect instantly, you need to go to settings and click wifi, look up your wifi routers name and enter the information below, sometimes it will do it for you if you give your iTouch a second.
Do I set up a special guest password in the router for kindle to download or do I add the Kindle mac address to the router exception list? What is the best way?
There is no guest feature for the N300 router. The Kindle is compatible with and will connect to the Belkin N300 router as long as you enter in the correct wifi password that is supplied with the rotuer.
The printer should be WIFI and you need to pair the printer with your laptop or Ipad via bluetooth. The WIFI router is not really necessary for Wifi printing.
Do the system requirements listed for this router apply to the wired computer (to which the modem is currently connected) or to a laptop or other computer that will be connected wirelessly after the router is hooked up?
you will need those specs in order to setup the device.... if you have a computer that meets those and you can set it up. Then if you plug in wired with the computer that doesn't meet the specs it should be fine.
The system requirements listed on the box of the Belkin N300 router are for the router setup software. Any computer you install the setup software on will need to have specs that match or exceed these. The setup software though is NOT required for the N300 router, it is provided to assist in setup but the router can be connected to via your computers operating system and a web browser.
It will depend on what the admin is allowing you to change... But if you are already able to connect to a home network and work network then you wont have a problem.... As far as the difference between this and your old one.... You will have an increased networking speed and also be able to use and N wireless devices on it. Internet wise you may not notice a difference depending on your ISP if you have really fast cable internet you may notice a difference or if you have multiple computers you will see a difference.
The Belkin N300 will provide up to a 300 mbps wireless connection to compatible clients. While you may notice an increase in your internal network speed your internet speeds depend upon your ISP service plan you subscribe to.
make sure the model you purchased supports the printer server technology and that it is enabled in your router settings. Can stem from your printer model as well. sorry it's not the funnest answer
