BLUE ARROW POINTER ON THE MAP

I LOOKED AT A RINO 655T, ON THE MAP THE BLUE POINTER GOES IN A DIFFERENT POSITION AS THE GPS IS MOVED, THIS POINTER DOES NOT POINT NORTH, WHAT IS THIS BLUE ARROWS PURPOSE ?

The blue arrow is part of the Garmin triangle logo, it serves no purpose for navigation.
