As far as I know, it should work just fine for you. If your Mac mini has a USB 3.0 port, it should be OK. Unlike some other drives that require you to go through a formatting process before it will work with a Mac, this one worked for me straight out of the box. It has been wonderful for me to work with, and the installation was easy.
If your Mac mini doesn't have a USB 3.0 port, then I'm not sure. USB 3.0 became pretty standard after 2011, and is marked with blue around the port, or with the SS initials. If you are still running a computer with only USB 2.0, then I THINK it would work, but not sure (might be time for an upgrade then).
