LB,
This is a tricky one because the LG - Smart Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player, Model # BP340 has 2 versions that are out in the market and one of them will play all regions and the other will not. The coding for Blu-Rays is different to that of DVDs so the best way to know is to look at the coding on the back of the unit! The unit will only play DVDs encoded for the region indicated on the back of the unit. If it says "All region" or a "0" on a grid of the World map, then it can play any DVD!
Region "1" is the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Caribbean, U.S. territories, region "2" is Europe, Middle East, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland, French Overseas departments and territories, region "3" is Southeast Asia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau & "4" is South America, Central America, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea and much of Oceania and the codes go up to region "6".
Blu-ray players on the other hand use letters A, B, and C where region "A" Includes most American and Southeast Asian countries, as well as some East Asian countries including Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau and Taiwan. Region B Includes half of Europe's territory, Western Asian countries, all of Africa, and most of Oceania Australia and New Zealand and region "C" Includes Belarus, Ukraine, European and Asian parts of Russia, central, east and south Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, China and India. Hope this helps somewhat?...IFV
