I believe so but I am not computer literate. I have mine plugged into a usb port but don't know what kind it is. I had to purchase the external drive with only 500 GB because I have Windows XP. It does not say on the box what ports it is compatible with. The best part is that if you order it and it doesn't work you can return to your store thereby saving shipping. I will say that the drive is a little confusing to operate. We don't know if it is backing up incremental or not. That is only backing up something that has changed since last back up or if it backing up everything again.
I am not totally Apple literate but these drives use standard USB 2.0 and 3.0 interface. They are preformatted for NTFS. I am pretty certain they are Apple compatible. See the previous answer from user5103, they are more confident than I.
