Can the surface pro handle these applications? I like that it has a pen input as I would not need to get a wacom tablet to use a pen interface.

Yes they run and work fine.

However the pressure sensitivity of the pen is currently not working in Adobe applications. The pen works fine other than this.

Microsoft have confirmed they have Wacom working on an updated driver that will fix this issue though. They have stated it should be out soon.

Currently the larges available micro SDXC card is 64 GB which works perfectly in my Surface Pro. Eventually this format will be able to hold up to 2 TB which is suppose to also work in the Surface.

Microsoft has 2 video connection cables that you can purchase to connect to VGA or HDMI devices. You can find them In the Surface Pro accessories section of the Best Buy website.

There is a USB port on the Surface Pro and another on the power brick that comes with it.

The Surface Pro has a mini display port connector. You will need an adaptor to connect the mini display port to the VGA connector on your monitor. You can also get mini DP to HDMI, or mini DP to DVI

You can use your finger to write in OneNote and it will still convert it to text if you choose.

You absolutely can just use your finger if you like. The Surface Pro has a full touch-screen. The pen helps make drawing and writing a little less clumsy, but is by no means necessary.

Yes. Surface Pro can run Nook, Kindle, and any other reader applications that can be installed on Windows.
It also has the Microsoft Reader application built in which supports many varied formats.

I bought a Surface Pro while I was in the USA and have used it as my main computer since, so here is my experience with the battery.

I was using it at the conference to take notes in meetings and show people powerpoints with it in my hands. Using it like this, so not presenting or using Excel all the time, it lasted me the day. However, when I was flying back I was able to get about 6 1/2 hours constant e-mail and other non-intensive app usage out of it and it still had a bit of juice left in the box.

I've also used it as a games machine, where it was going full tilt and I believe it would have lasted about 3-4 hours doing this.

Purchase the Microsoft Surface Pro or the Surface Pro 2. You will need to purchase the Office suite separately as it does not come standard with the Surface Pro. As for installing other software applications like Photoshop and iTunes, the Pro version runs a full version of Windows 8 - just like a laptop or desktop, so you really can install any piece of software like you would with a regular computer device! It's a great tool - more like a laptop, but also a tablet too!

Only the surface pro has the full windows 8.1 operating system that allows you to load programs to it.

Hello there,

The Surface and Surface 2 include a full version of Office, but are not designed to download software. The Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 include a 1-month trial of Office 365 and are designed to download and install software.

Will Office 2007 run on this machine and how would I load it from disc?

I purchased Office 2007 several years ago and have the disk, product key, etc. How and can I load it on the Surface Pro 128GB? The Office 2007 pkg came with a disc. Can it be downloaded from the MS web site using the product key? Also, how many machines can I load Office 2007 on? If I purchase the Surface Pro, that would make 3. Seems that I heard or read it (Office 2007) could be loaded on up to 3 machines. Is that right? The wrapper tells me nothing relative to this. Also, would I have the option of removing it from an older machine to allow its use on the Surface Pro? Thanks

I have loaded Office 2007 Professional onto the Surface. You have several options. 1. use a USB DVD player 2. Copy the Disc to a USB drive and run setup. 3. Share the DVD player on another computer and connect to that computer through the network.

Surface Pro can run Office 2007. The best way to get it from disc to Surface, IMO, is to copy the disc to a network drive then pull it from there with Surface. You can also copy the files to a USB drive or attach a USB CD drive to the Surface.
Your licensing question is one for Microsoft though, you can call them at any time and ask for details, they've been helpful in my experiences calling in about licenses for Windows in the past.
