Thanks for your question. The difference is that the SoundDock Series II is compatible with 30 pin style of iPod and iPhones (including yours), while the Series III uses the Lightning style connector. Thank you!
I have downloaded my iTunes library onto my Galaxy S5 phone. I would like to use my SoundDock plus my iPod screen won't turn on anymore to allow me to select my music.
It has a plug for MP3, etc. So yes, I have a Droid and the plug used for my phone is the same. Hope this helps. Also, BOSE is excellent for answering any questions you may have. Just head to their site.
Our SoundDock systems are specifically designed for use with iPhone and iPod. Though they offer a 3.5mm AUX audio input on the rear, one of our Bluetooth speakers may be a better option for an Android based phone. Thank you.
This product is not directly compatible with 12v DC input. Powering this device from a car's 12v DC outlet would require use of a power inverter in order to change the voltage to 120v AC. Then the normal power supply for the dock could be used.
Thank you for your question. The SoundDock System is designed specifically for Apple iPods and iPhones. A better option for use with the Samsung Galaxy may be our SoundLink Mobile Bluetooth Series II speaker. Thanks!
