Hi,

The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards. Be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle.

Hello Karl,

Great question! Deciding what is the most efficient setting for your air conditioner depends on whether the temperature is warmer inside or outside of your home. For example if the air is cooler outside than it is inside of the home you should leave the air vent open in the "Fresh Air" position. If the air is cooler inside then it is recommended that you leave the vent closed as it is a better option to re-circulate the air within the home. We suggest that if the vent is closed that no candles or smoking is done as it will re-circulate this air.

The recirculate/ehaust/etc. settings are poorly documented in maual.

The manual tries to show the positions of the plastic actuator (that protrudes through the upper vent grille) for the vent open/close /recirculate modes but the drawings for each position are almost identical and difficult to discern which position is which. Can you explain in text form which position performs which function? (e.g. push all the way in to open or shut the vent, first detent for whatever, second detent, etc.)

Thanks for your question! We apologize for the delay in response. There are 3 positions for the plastic actuator that will adjust these settings. Push the actuator all the way in to close vent and recirculate air in room. Choose the middle position to bring in fresh air. Pull the actuator all the way out to open vent and exchange air in the room.

Does drip pan require hole drilled to drain condensate (water)?

I have seen reviews of this model where users complain about noises coming from the unit due to water buildup in drip pan which people solved by drilling a drain hole in the pan. Also, is a user/installation manual available on-line to preview what it takes to install the unit in a window.

Did anyone else get a model with a horizontal electical prong?

I purchased this model after all the great reviews and research I read. I got the unit installed and when I went to plug it in, I noticed that the prongs are not the standard wall unit prongs, but instead they are flat going from left to right (instead of up and down). The box and online listing show that it is supposed to be up and down. Additionally, my cord says 230va even though the box and online listing say 115va. Did I get a wrong unit in my box? What gives?
