Actually, you should be able to fit this AC unit in a window with a width of 18.5" (the width of the unit) by not installing the side expanders (unit comes without them installed). Works for me...
I have an old Samsung unit not cooling. So now I'm searching for new ac. Torn between Kenmore and Frigidaire. I'm reading how there is a drainage plug to let out water. Is that a feature on these ac's. Didn't have that with my 9 yr old unit.
Thanks for your question! The Frigidaire line of air conditioners will drain automatically at the back of the product. However, if you would like to lead the condensate away from your air conditioner this can be done by purchasing an additional accessory. This accessory, called EA150D, attaches to your unit and allows a normal garden hose to be connected to it to lead condensation water away.
All air conditioners for the past several years have a built in GFI in the plug. It is a standard 3 prong 110V plug but with a box with some buttons on it making the plug very large (like an AC Adaptor) so it may block the 2nd outlet or have trouble sitting flush if you have a fancy, non-standard cover on your outlet.
I have a Frigidaire window unit 6000 btu and it makes quite a bit of noise from the swisher blade hitting the water when I have the unit at an angle towards out the window like the manual recommends but if I have the unit level it doesn't make any noise at all nice and peaceful .what should I do is it normal if it makes noise like that ?
Did you remove the drain plug on the bottom of the unit. Make sure it has passed the window frame. There are additional drain plugs you could remove to help the unit discharge the water build up if you are in a hot or high humidity area. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
I've had no problem with the water hitting the fan blade. My problem has been continued, loud, vibration noise. Perhaps you can contact a Frigidaire technician for a remedy.
This particular model is considered to be one of the quietest 6,000 BTU units. It operates at a decibel level of 47.6 on the low end and 54.5 on the high end.
I have tried 2 new units, and in a room at 78 degrees with the units set for 72 degrees in the Econ mode both units only run for 10 - 15 minutes then switches to the fan running for 20 seconds every 10 minutes, and the room is still at 78 degrees. Room size is 180 sq. feet.
Try running the unit on COOL mode to see if it actually cools the room, then, if it does, try switching it to ECON mode and see if it maintains the temp you set it at. I purchased 2 of these units and have not had any problems with them. Sometimes at the start you have to bring the room to the temp you want and then set it to econ mode for it to maintain. give this a try. Good luck.
Hi, thank you for your inquiry. To reset after cleaning the filter, press the “Check Filter” button and the light will go off on air conditioner model FAA065M7A.
