Unfortunately, there is no such adaptor. Usually though, the water that does drip will drip out of the back of the unit, which sits the farthest distance away from the house.

No it is not. The design of the air chamber inside the unit is such that air exits the unit at a higher volume on one side. The vents are adjustable so that you can direct air in the direction you wish.

Unfortunately, there is no window unit that I am aware of that could be installed in a swing out window. With some modification, you might be able to make the window kit for a portable work, but you would have to take out the screen.

it is for a single or double hung window - only if your tour overall wall thickness is less than the opening necessary for appropriate thickness

Thanks for your question! The recommended height of installation is a few feet above ground level. This is so the indoor air circulates correctly in the room you are cooling. The louvers on a window unit can angle the output air, but performance is better if installed at window-height.

We installed ours by simply laying a 2x4 strip of wood on the outside window ledge to level and support the exterior portion of the unit at the proper angle. The included metal bracer strip that screws to the top of the unit holds it securely against the inside of of a double hung window. If you don't have double hung windows then you might need a different set-up.
