This movie was based on the book, and it is one of the best book adaptations out there. The movie is intense, suspenseful, romantic, violent, and absolutely insane. It is a must watch, and a must own for any collector.

I read the book many years ago, so I knew the story very well. This was a very much anticipated movie in the military world, and we were all very excited to know that Marcus Luttrell was a huge part in the making of the movie. With him and other Navy SEALS as advisers on the movie, I was confident that they would do the deceased well... and they did.
You always hear, "the book was better"... and in most cases (including this one), its true. But you have to realize the book can go way more into detail than a 2 hour movie can. But even within the time constraints they had, I think they did an amazing job of capturing the essence of what happened on that mountain that day.
