I bought this on clearance. It took a bit of time to understand the usage. A smartphone is required to fully use this. App can be downloaded per the instructions on the package. The mic itself doesn't seem to work on the piece that I bought. The phone's in-built microphone was picking up the voice. Overall my daughter has had some fun using it.
