Andrew Bergman's adaptation of Carl Hiaasen's Striptease comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen image preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages as well. This disc contains scenes that were cut from the initial theatrical release. This is an acceptable, if run-of-the-mill release from Warner Brothers.

Mid 90's Demi Moore was her at her best. The movie is average, which is disappointing, it has a decent story line that could have been used to make it so much better. Single mom trying to make ends meet gets drawn into a political drama that results in murder. Stripper Demi to the rescue, bringing down a US Congressman and his crooked group of cronies almost without any help from the professionals of law enforcement. At $3.99 not a bad deal for 2 hours of entertainment.
Steven Seagal stars as a cook struggling to keep a heavily armed ship's nuclear arsenal out of the hands of a team of menacing terrorists in this action-packed thriller-adventure from Warner Home Video. Offered for viewing in either the original 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical aspect ratio (enhanced for widescreen TVs) or standard 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan, this release offers audio in closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1, along with Spanish and French Dolby Digital Surround with optional English Spanish and French subtitles. Limited extra features include production notes and a theatrical trailer.

I bought this because at the $3.99 bargain bin it was almost as cheap as a rental. This is Steven Seagal in his prime, early 1990's playing the role he does so well, martial arts / combat fighter for all that is right against impossible odds and a large well equipped and trained enemy. Set on a US Navy Ship it is quite entertaining.

This was an entertaining movie based upon actual events of a runaway freight train that is loaded with hazardous cargo and headed for a turn that is not negotiable at the present speed in a populated city. Denzel Washington is awesome in his role as a train engineer desperately trying to stop the runaway train before disaster strikes.

Todd Phillips breakout movie introducing the Wolf Pack is very funny if you like raunchy comedy. A bachelor party in Vegas ends with the participants unable to find the bachelor and none of them can remember what happened, where they were, or what became of the now missing bachelor. They spend the next two days trying to retrace their forgotten steps of that night.

This was an interesting twist on the cop buddy comedy with two great actresses playing the cop buddies. I found it in the $3.99 bin and picked it up, it was almost the same price as a rental so why not. Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy don't disappoint.

This was a replacement for a CD I bought 20 plus years ago, my 16 year old daughter has taken the original and plays it regularly so it was either try to steal it back or buy another, this was the less painful route. I like their whole library but Dookie is my favorite album of theirs. Lots of great hits with good beats and catchy tunes, not many "B" sides if you know what I mean.

I had wanted to see Jack Reacher when it was in the theaters but missed my window of opportunity. I'm a fan of Tom Cruise and he didn't disappoint as Jack Reacher, I tend to like Cruise best as the cocky type, think Top Gun, Mission Impossible, etc. and the Reacher character played right into his wheel house. Good action, fair plot, and kept me interested up to the end. Plus a bargain price.

Baby Mama was an impulse buy, in the bargin Blu-Ray bin and I picked it up. I'm a fan of Tina Fey and Amy Pohler and they make a great comedy duo in the movie. It was funny but slightly missed the mark, I think that if these two funny ladies were allowed to just adlib and run with it the movie could have been hilarious. That being said, the price was right and I'm not disappointed.

I picked Clerks up from the bargin bin as a Blu-Ray disk because the price was too good to pass up and I'm a fan of Kevin Smith and wanted to see his first movie. I should have been a little more careful, the movie is in black and white. I didn't realize that at the time that I bought it. That being said the movie itself is a pretty good freshman effort and has Jay and Silent Bob in it who are always entertaining. Plus for the price it was a great deal.
