I recently replaced my Yamaha Aventage 7.1 receiver with this Marantz to get the Dolby Atmos & DTS-X, plus the audyssey EQ. I added 4 Height speakers as well and the difference is striking-more presence, better imaging, sounds are more distinct. I hear surround sounds that were missing before! The Audyssey EQ is more accurate and has a more listenable EQ than the YPAO EQ from Yamaha in my opinion.

Recently upgraded my speakers to an upper mid-range audiophile system, so needed to upgrade the wire with a thicker grade and twisted as well for better signal--these wires do make a difference in subtle things like extra dynamic range, a bit more presence as well in the sound-field. Good bang for the buck.

Cut the cable cord and use this NVIDIA SHIELD media player instead. I have found these streaming devices have terrible buffering (ie Streamsmart). I know that has to do with download speed. What is the best way to go with this one, Comcast (coax) or Century Link (RJ-45)?
I have had Comcast for a few years to this point, i just got a Shield a few weeks ago when I still had Comcast with a 70 megabit connection, the Shield worked perfectly with that, even with two people in the house watching on two streaming boxes at the same time. The other streaming box is an Apple TV 4th Gen (non 4k)

Store edited photos, videos, and games on this 3.5-inch Western Digital hard drive. It has dynamic cache for optimizing allocation between reads and writes, and there's plenty of space to store files with its 4TB capacity.
My motherboard is designed for SATA 2.0 = 3 Gbits/s (Asus P6T SE). I know that SATA 3 is supposed to be compatible with SATA 2 MBs. Will this HDD work with a SATA 2 MB? I know it will be slower but wanted to make sure it will work.

With a 5.1 receiver you would just use this speaker as a typical surround speaker, this speaker does have a separate input on the back for the up-firing Atmos driver, but you would not use it like that for a 5.1 system - the inputs on the back can stay bridged together for a 5.1 system (the bridge is just a metal bar on the back that connects the separate inputs together) - but you would be ready to upgrade later with an Atmos receiver, then you would un-bridge the connections and feed them separately!
