Not a hard case. It's a soft, smooth texture (similar to leather), but definitely sturdy enough to offer good protection.

Doesn't seem to be working?

I've been using this power pack off and on for a few days now, and it doesn't seem to be working. I've cycled the battery 2 or 3 times now, but the biggest charge I've gotten out of it was 2% on my phone battery. How long does the power pack need to be charged? How many cycles before it should work properly? Might I have a defective model?

Maybe. I was able to use mine fresh out of the package. Did what I needed it to do and then charged it - let it go for a while to fully charge. Haven't had any problems. You might need to follow up.

I agree on the conflicting answers. I even called BB and was told it was one. But when I received it I got two - maybe they meant one pack. Regardless I received a pack of two cables. Great deal.

What is the estimated battery life on a full charge during usage and whats the operating distance?

I believe the packaging says 30 hours. Took it to the beach for a week's vacation. Used it a couple of hours a day for 4 or 5 days...never had to charge it while we were there.
