This film is hilarious, adventurous and much more! It will appeal to kids as well as adults and has a very unique idea. Russell Madness is a perfect family story that will be enjoyed by many. Russell Madness has a feel of comedy with a wrap-around of family ties, while still having a core of wrestling and a little sprinkle of suspense.

Great for the kids

The film is clearly for kids. The action and drama is low intensity. Larry struggles with his son (Skyler Gisondo) who does not want to attend college.
Hugh Jackman manages to play and laugh at himself. There is a speech given by Robin Williams about moving on which was a bit sad. Should be good fun for the kids, although they could have done it without a urinating monkey and BTW Orion doesn't have a bow.

More of a come down from Scorpion King 3

The film is anachronistic, borrows modern phrases, and even employs swagger music. In the beginning a guy not hiding his Brooklyn accent (Lou Ferrigno) says, "No one steals from me." I am not sure how much of this type of thing was intentional or not. In any case it was funny and entertaining, but it wasn't sustained...like in Part 3.

Lot of Action

My biggest deal with this movie, as seems to be the going thing, is it's more focused on action versus story. While the story isn't bad - it's based on the Justice League series story-arc by the same name - it just doesnt' seem to carry the same weight or have the positive effect on me that reading it did.

The story, and the direction are excellent... and despite my annoyance with time-travel storylines, the method they opt for is better than usual. This is not only the smartest and most entertaining entry in the X-men franchise, it is also one of the best superhero films to date.
