Quiet, Contemplative, Naturlastic

This film is a unique look at Japanese civilian life during World War II and shows how war time affects the average person just trying to live their life they best they can. It's not revisionist or particularly patriotic; rather it seems authentic to the perspective of the characters.
It looks *fantastic*, reminiscent of water color paintings; with a subdued soundtrack that fits the film.
The Blu-Ray comes with a code to redeem which allows you to watch or download the movie through a service powered by Vimeo, which is a nice bonus, though I always prefer Ultraviolet when possible.

Platforming Perfection

Super Mario Odyssey represents a return to the classic exploration style Mario platformers like Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine, with the key improvement that completing challenges doesn't kick you back to a hub (though the major plot oriented ones do put you back at the entrance to the level). There's lots to see and do and each themed "Kingdom" is distinct with unique mechanics and inhabitants. There's dozens of challenges in each level (typically 50+) many of which require a combination of thoughtful exploration, puzzle solving and some quick reflexes.
If the recent 3D Mario platforming games seemed too linear and you've been missing the open world style gameplay, this is the game you've been waiting for.

Decent Adaption of an Classic Series of Books

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King is a modern classic, but attempting to directly adapt its thousands of pages of text into a single film was basically impossible.
Instead the film takes the basic premise and setting of the books and a handful of plot threads and adapts it into a solid if somewhat unremarkable film. You'll definitely get more out of the film if you've read the books, but you'll also likely be disappointed that it doesn't directly pull form the source material.
Anyone unfamiliar with the books can still enjoy the movie for some great gunfights and solid performances by the two leads, Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. Though my biggest gripe with the movie is that the film almost demotes as much if not more time to the teenage character Jake played by Tom Taylor. He's not bad in the role, it just seems disappointing that he basically acts the main character and point of view for most of the film instead of Idri's character of Roland.

Snipperclips Plus features the original digital release of the game as well as the recently released DLC in a single physical release. If your looking for a came to play locally co-op and show of the Switch in tabletop mode this is one of the best games for it. While it features both 2 player and 4 player modes, the 2 player levels seem better suited to game. It can be played solo, by switching control between multiple characters, but loses a lot of the fun in the process.

The Successor to Team Fortress 2

I haven't seriously played a competitive shooter since Team Fortress 2. Every few years I try the latest Call of Duty or Battlefield and find myself bored after a few weeks. Overwatch is the first game in this genre in some time that's consistently held my attention.
