This season sees the introduction of Gus Fring into the series. I was quite concerned with how it would be handled. I have to say, it was handled better than I had expected. It was not done is some flashy cameo, but in a character driven way that has actual importance to the story being told. And the rest of the story being told is excellent. The Chuck/Jimmy relationship sticks out most in my mind, and as fans of both of the actors from way back, I am very very impressed at their dramatic range this season.

To be honest, I once had a 3DS version of Monster Hunter, which I played for about 30 minutes and put down forever. I did not understand the appeal at that time, and I approached this new game with great trepidation. However, this game was designed for new players and players like me; it was much quicker, much more engaging. I have not "completed" it yet, but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to let people who are on the fence know that it is safe to jump in.

Great to see after many years

I have not seen the original Jumanji since it first came out in theaters, and I recall at that time that I did not enjoy it very much (I was quite young at the time). As an adult, I can appreciate the film more for what it was trying to do, as well as the darker themes that the film presents. The image quality is excellent and it was great to rediscover a film from my youth that I appreciate more as an adult than as a child.

Good reboot, great disc

It has existed in several incarnations over the years, and this one was focused on the relationship between the kids, which I feel was the strongest parts of the movie. Nothing new, but very well done. The clown itself was quite disturbing, but It was not featured as much as it could have. The 4K image quality is excellent, and the disc is highly recommended

Enjoyable Nolan film, but package falls short

I enjoyed the Prestige thoroughly when I saw it upon original release. Upon watching again years later, it is still thoroughly enjoyable. My main issue is with this release - it is a 2 disc release whereas if you had purchased the larger, Nolan collection set, you would have had a 3 disc release. My understanding is that the content of discs 2 and 3 were combined on the standalone release, but sacrificed quality to do so. I would have much preferred the 3 disc version if it were available standalone, which it is not in the US. Very disappointing.

A great follow-up to original Blade Runner

I enjoyed the original film but was never it's biggest fan. I loved the themes and the settings, but there were too many story issues for me to fully enjoy it. This sequel maintains (and sometimes exceeds) the deep dive into the themes and settings compared to the original movie. But again, story and character fall a bit flat for me (but better than original). I imagine that if you loved original, you will love sequel. But, this film probably won't change your mind if you were on the fence before.

As a sucker for disaster films, I was mildly looking forward to Geostorm. In the end, there was not enough Geostorm for my liking. There is a lot of interpersonal drama leading up to the showpiece whereas many other similar films focus on surviving the aftermath. If you prefer the former, this may be for you.

Fun B movie, basic disc bonus features

Blind purchased this blu-ray on sale. I have always been a fan of survival genre, less so the battle royale genre. The film itself was fairly straightforward, and they did a decent job in getting you to care about several characters. There is a bit of mythology-building too, which I appreciate (but didn't need). Disc has a few basic bonus features. No digital copy.
