Very good, but not great

This one was definitely better than 3, but still not as good as 1 and 2. This one does provide more of the back story behind Jigsaw and provides a good amount of mystery as to who the next in line is, but just wasn't as exciting as the first two. The acting was just ok though and is what really stood out in this installment as none of those cops and FBI agents were believalbe at all. Still the new traps/puzzles, mystery, and suspense makes it a very good movie.
What's great about it: More gore and deadly puzzles
What's not so great: Still not as good as the first 2

A let down

I really thought this movie was going to turn out better than what it did and was sorely disappoint. I expected boat loads of laughs and instead got some very dry humor. It just simply wasn't funny and very one dimensions. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
What's great about it: Resolution and sound is great on the blu-ray
What's not so great: Very dry movie
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great movie all around
on February 12, 2008

This is a great movie for anyone. Not too much lubby dubby stuff, not too much action, but just the right amount of both with a bit of mystery, intrigue, and comedy mixed in. The 2 minute prediction angle was a great idea and doesn't over do it because of this. The acting is great all around especially on the sides of Nicholas and Jessica. As always Jessica is very easy on the eyes. The stroyline also holds strong throughout the movie. My only knock on this one is that the special effects look a bit "old school" in the sense the green screen was obivious in the shots. Other than that though, the movie is great. Would definitely recommend.
What's great about it: Lots of action very cool prediction concept
What's not so great: Special effects are a bit "old school"

Eh, it's ok but not worth the blu-ray

This movie is ok, but is definitely not worth the price of a blu-ray disc. Instead, you'd come out better buying this on a regular DVD. I usually only reserve my blu-ray purchases for movies I generally know are going to be great and warrant the higher cost, but I was mistaken with this choice. It's just your basic comedy slash love story flick with a best friend giving the somewhat moral guy advice as he goes through the motions of trying to bag his one true love.....pretty standard. My wife loved the love story angle in this movie, but it's just not my thing. Would recommend if you just need a regular movie to watch and are into the love story deal, but wouldn't recommend getting it on blu-ray.
What's great about it: Nice unrated photage and some funny moments
What's not so great: Very average movie with no real climax

Great action movie

This has to be the best RE movie in the pack. Really like the visual style that was used in the desert and the awesome sound/resolution on blu-ray is the icing on the cake. Loads of new action sequences in this one and more developement in the storyline that comes directly from the game series. Even if you're not in the game, this is still a great action movie for the action junkie.
What's great about it: Lots of action, great resolution, and massive sound
What's not so great: Milla could have had some more line

Simpons on blu-ray, need I say more?

I've been a fan of the Simpsons for years and this is like the ultimate Simpsons episode. The Simpsons in blu-ray is just amazing. Great picture, excellent sound, and many cool features. I will caution blu-ray owners about this one possible issue though.....I'm not sure if this is just on the blu-ray format or if it's on all media, but don't bother trying to adjust your TV's ratio setting when you notice everything showing in a square picture frame with the black borders all around as if in full screen mode. Yes it does say "widescreen" in the description on the box, but when that full screen look comes up you may find yourself trying to make sure everything is setup properly like I did for about 5 - 6 minutes before just giving up and letting it play. Calm down, once the doc flies by and says "on the big screen" during the title, the screen pans out to the widescreen mode (I'm sure as part of Matt's little joke) and everything is gravy from then on out. If you're a fan of the Simpsons, you have to get this movie.
What's great about it: Extremely funny movie
What's not so great: none

Really old, but funny

1998, I barely remember what I was doing back then but I do remember watching some Southpark and season 2 has a stock of episodes that I'd completely forgotten about. I'm talking the Chicken Lover episode, the first Terrance & Phillip movie that aired around April fool's day when fans were expecting to get the answer of whose Cartman's Dad is, and more. You can definitely tell in this season that Matt and Trey were still trying to perfect their craft, but it's still a classic.
What's great about it: Funny episodes that help establish the franchise
What's not so great: Whew, these are some old episodes

Paramount Home Entertainment has released its fourth box set of episodes from Comedy Central's gleefully tasteless animated series South Park, and while this set will doubtless please fans, it doesn't offer much in the way of bonus goodies. South Park: The Complete Fourth Season features 17 episodes from the show's fourth cycle, all formatted in their original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1; the transfers are sharp and clean, and it's nice to see the material without the all-too-familiar Comedy Central "watermark" in the lower right corner. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo, and the sound offers more punch than in its broadcast version. The episodes are in English, but feature no subtitles or alternate language options. The only notable bonus material on this collection are commentary tracks for each episode from series creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, but for this set Parker and Stone have opted to offer what they call "fun-size commentaries," which last no more than five minutes at the opening of each episode. While they do offer some interesting and often funny anecdotes along the way (particularly in dealing with the network's concerns about handicapped character Timmy, who made his debut in season four, and their unusual down-to-the-wire working methods), generally they stop talking just as they've started to hit their stride, making the commentaries more than a bit frustrating. The only other bonus items are three short bits culled from Comedy Central shows, though this set does include the rare episode "Pip," an oddball adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations that rarely pops up in reruns and will be unfamiliar to many fans. South Park: The Complete Fourth Season certainly offers up this material in well-polished form, but unfortunately doesn't offer much else for fans looking for something more.

This season has classic episodes like the one with Carman's Christian rock band, NAMBLA's child obssession, the tooth fair crime mob set, and more. Have to get this one for your Southpark collection.

The foul-mouthed third graders of South Park, CO, are treated with respect in this DVD box set. The 17 episodes on South Park: The Complete Third Season have been transferred to disc in their original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. The episodes are in English, with optional subtitles in English, French, and Spanish. As a bonus, each episode features a five to seven minute "mini-commentary" from series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Season 3 classics
on January 4, 2008

This season has some of the funniest episodes in Southpark history including the Chim Poku Mon joint, the rainforest episode, and so much more pieces of the puzzle that explain how the Southpark crew has gotten to where they are today. The episodes are of course several years old, so the animation isn't no where near the quality of today but the sick humor is definitely there.

CAN'T GET PS3 TO WORK ON MY HUGHESNET INTERNET FOR GAMING

Unfortunately, the news won't be good for your situation. Hughesnet is a satellite ISP, which means that the signal has to travel all the way from earth to space and then back again. Because of this, there is a VERY noticeable lag time and you can't get "real-time online gaming". Basically, any game you try to play online on PS3, Xbox, or PC won't play correctly due to that lag time. If you're able to swich to a local ISP through DSL or cable high speed Internet, then you'll be good to go. Otherwise, with Hughesnet you're going to ge stuck with playing games offline. Sorry for the bad news.

Will Upconvert dvd player play blueray disk?

I have a visio 32 lcd hd 1080p tv and a upconvert dvd player. Will blue ray disk play on the player?
Unfortunately not. Upconvert DVD players can only upconvert regular DVDs to try and get close to HD quality resolution, but not 100%. For blu-ray discs playback, you'll need to buy a stand alone blu-ray player or Playstation 3. There's many stand alone blu-ray players for under $200 that play great nowa days. I recently purchased the Sony BDP-S360 blu-ray player on a really good sale and it plays both DVDs and blu-ray disc with no problems for well under $200.

should i get gh5 or lego rock band for my first game

I would definitely go with Guitar Hero 5 instead of Lego Rock Band. Even though Lego Rock Band isn't out yet, that whole line of Lego games just gets old fast. GH5 however is already out and has proven itself to be a very good game with high ratings all around. Don't forget that the Guitra Hero series also has a pretty good track record for fun downloadable content, which I can't say the same for those Lego games.
