great hockey movie with a lot of heart

This is a movie about hockey, but not just about it. It's about a small town where everybody knows everyone else, and they live together as a familial community. And in spite of being small, they have large expectations and just want a shot to prove themselves. This is a really terrific film.

a martial art flick (big surprise)

I love a great martial art flick, and this movie had great fight sceens in it. The storyline however was lacking. I have found myself skipping through parts of the movie just looking for the fights. The plot seemed a little forced, like how there had to be some evil person who had to take something from someone and how that someone had to get it back. But, if your looking for an overly simplistic story with high octane action, then you will enjoy this move.

An uplifting movie about teamwork and acceptence

If nothing else, just watching the sheer athleticism of the cast is enough tomake this film enjoyable. Having said that, it is actually quite a good comedy with a lot of heart. It portrays how competition can change you, for both good and bad. It also shows that if you believe in someome, and have someone believe in you, there a few obstacles that can't be overcome.

This is quite possibly one of my top 3 favorite Tarentino films. It has a lot of action with vast amounts of bloody fight sceens. The blood is obviously fake, but that adds to the overall charm of the film imho. There is pretty much always something happening so you never get board. I also like how the story skips around, but you never get confused by the nonlinear sequencing. But, of course, the final chapter is exactly where it needs to be.....at the end.
