Book of Life is a fun film. I love animated films to start and animation wise this is on key. The comedy bits are equally as entertaining. But for me there was just something missing in it. I can't really place my finger on it, but I will watch it again if the kids ask, but won't be one of my go to films when I am in a movie watching mood.

Mel Brooks' early films were all classics. And when he ventured into the sci0fi genre with SpaceBalls he hit all the marks. From the digs on merchandising, the over sized ego helmet of Dark Helmet and John Candy as Barf, he adds another great comedic staple to his roster. This movie still holds up today and the updated version in Blu-Ray and new bonus features makes i worth watching over and over. While introducing it to a new generation on youth.
