The comedy series' third season is all about the chemistry between Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) and their dynamic with the rest of the gang as the two of them go from being "just friends" to "boyfriend and girlfriend." On the heels of Season 2's big romantic finale, the newly minted lovebirds escape to Mexico on a whim, unsure of how to proceed in these unfamiliar roles. Upon their return, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) has trouble adjusting to the new relationship, and so he spends a great deal of time actively trying to break them up.
