This is roughly based on the story of Henry Lee Lucas. There is some direct pulls from his life and some from the confessions that were made up in order to gain favors from law officals who were trying to clear their books of many unsolved cold cases.
Micaheal Rooker (most recently Merle Dixion of AMC's Walking Dead) notable delivers a strong performance in this simple movie (the movie was shot on 16mm with an extremely modest budget of ~110K).

This film is shot with that "found footage" style where the charaters are recording everything for posterity's sake. I'm not a huge fan of that style of film. I really like the idea of time travel stories so I was able to overlook the style... Interesting idea of a time cotinuum and the consequences that result from interrupting it.
Overall not a bad flick, geared to the younger crowd (cast is highschool "age").

I don't normally buy comedy movies as they rarely hold up to repeated viewings... I think this may fall into that catagory. I'm pretty tired of Seth Rogan. Most of his flicks seem like that have maybe four or fives pages of dialog and then they just try to riff/improvise through a scene and hope they catch something clever/magical on film... which is why it seems tiring to me. Not that it's a bad flick... it just not a great one.
Look for it on sale.

This sits well in the genre of big summer block busters. It doesn't deviate from the earlier films and just keeps building (guess there is to be another set of flicks slated for the series).
This is a special effects movie and it delivers on that... don't expect an Oscar level movie and you won't be disappointed ;-)

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's wild homage to the exploitation flicks of yesteryear comes home completely uncut, and with each of its deliriously twisted "fake" trailers present and accounted for.

I bought this to replace the DVD versions. Got it for a killer price on sale, this is a good film library builder. Grindhouse refers to the movie houses that used to play all the schlock/B-moives that came out.
I liked Death Proof (Tarentino) better than Planet Terror (Rodriguez).

Either way Rose McGown killed it in both flicks and that alone is worth the purchase, as well as Kurt Russel's performance (why aren't these actors working more??? Come on Hollywood wake-up).
Planet Terror is also of the horror gnere of injects humor into the film, paying homage to the less than stellar films that did it purely by mistake or didn't know they were so schlocky that it became humorous.

This replaced a 19 Cu Ft. GE refrigerator that had the compressor kind of fade out and didn't get as cold as it once did. This frige had the height I wanted but I gave up several Cu. Ft. over the model it replaced so it feels like a dorm-room frige I guess. It had a funky plastic smell that went away after a few weeks. It ssems to be doing it's job, let's just hope it lasts longer than the other one did.

Did anyone opt to purchase the protection plan?
I didn't. I usually never do as the products usually have issues fairly early on in my experience (which would then be cover by the original warranty) and therefore many products will simply outlast the extended warranty period. However, another way to look at it is that you are simply buying piece of mind and for some folks it's well worth it.

Why is my fridge so noisy?
I have had my new fridge a week, but I've been on a trip most of the time. Now that I'm back, I've noticed how noisy it is -- unusually so. I can hear it all over my house and it's driving me batty. Is there anything that can be done... for example, insulation around the compressor or whatever, or pads on the bottom?
A new frige should be really quite and not heard from another room. Compare the noise from your frige and a neighbors to gage any real difference as a reference before calling for service (but it should be pretty quite).

Enters savings NYSEG rebate - getting rid of old refriferator . How does this work ? Does NYSEG need to come out to assure the old refriferator is still in working order ? Jodi
Normally it should be running so that the recycling company can verify that it's working (it just needs to get cold). Once they verify, you should be given a form that is used to submit for the rebate.

You can swap the handle over to either side along with the hinge, so it can be either right or left hand opening.
